UCD Archives EAD Pilot Project

UCD Archives is working to make all of its descriptive catalogues available and fully searchable online. This is a pilot project to identify and address the issues raised by the conversion of our descriptive catalogues to Encoded Archival Description [EAD] finding aids, using the catalogue of the Eamon de Valera Papers and focusing on the sections of the catalogue dealing with the 1916 Rebellion and the 1937 Constitution. The system of arrangement adopted in the descriptive catalogue dictates that the Rebellion material is found under ‘Easter Rising’ and the Constitution material is found under ‘Taoiseach’.

We have removed the search function at this stage because the relatively small amount of encoded text did not allow for meaningful searching.
